Dr. Cristina Castejón is full professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She graduated as an Industrial Engineer in 1998 and in 2002 she obtained a PhD in Industrial Technologies at the same university. In her doctoral thesis she has developed a new methodology for constructing external environments models for mobile robots based on three-dimensional information and the voronoi Diagram technique.
She currently teaches in the field of theory of Machines and Mechanisms. Her research focuses on the optimization of the design of mechanisms applied to mechatronics, and the application of intelligent techniques for the detection of defects in rotating mechanical parts.
